Welcome to the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) student chapter of University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Our goal is to encourage and foster student engagement in the mathematical sciences and further the applications of mathematics in industry and science.
Call for Speakers: Fall 2022
The UCSB Student Chapter of SIAM will be running a weekly seminar in applied mathematics. Click here to see the current schedule of our talks. If you are interested in giving a talk during this seminar, please send an email to siam@math.ucsb.edu with a potential title and abstract.
Becoming A Member
To join the student chapter, simply attend an event and fill out a sign up sheet. Alternatively, send an email with your name, department and grade level. The SIAM student chapter of UCSB is strongly committed to diversity in the STEM fields. We encourage both graduate and undergraduate students from all departments to participate.
Graduate students at UCSB are eligible for full SIAM membership at no cost. This membership must be renewed at the beginning of each calendar year. The local chapter can also coordinate full memberships for undergraduates. Contact us for details.
