Course Description:
Math 3B is the second course of a two quarter sequence in Differential and Integral Calculus. See the Math 3B Course Description for more details.
The Class Schedule will be continuosly updated during the quarter.

Prerequisites:
Completion of Math 3A with a grade of C or better or AP credit for Math 3A.

Office Hours: TR 3:15pm - 4:45pm and by appointment.

Textbook: Calculus (fifth edition), Stewart.

Grading: Homework & Quizzes 15%, Midterms 35%, Final Exam 50%.

Books, notes, calculators, scratch paper or collaboration will NOT be permitted on any of the exams or quizzes.

Midterms: There will be two midterms given in class on Feb. 1 and Mar. 1. Only the highest score within the two midterms will be counted for the final grade. There will be NO make-up exam for any of the midterms.

Quizzes: There will be three quizzes given during discussion section. Only the two highest scores will be counted for the final grade. There will be NO make-up date for any of the quizzes.

Homeworks: There will be a problem set each week, assigned in WebWork. I will send everyone the login and password to access the server by Thursday Jan. 11. Please check your e-mail on that date. The first problem set (set 0) is designed to acquaint you with using WeBWorK. Your score on this set will not be counted toward your final grade. Please contact your Teaching Assistant for any question or concern regarding the use of WebWork. NO late homeworks will be accepted, but you are allowed to skip one homework set. The use of a calculator is allowed during the preparation of the homeworks.

Final Exam: The final exam will be held on Wednesday, March 21, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The exam will cover all the material of the entire course. An incomplete may be assigned only for documented medical reasons.
