Special Program on The Geometry of Outer Space:
In Marseille I applied for and received grants from the NSF, LABEX, AMU, and ANR to organize a Special Program on The Geometry of Outer Space:
Investigated through its analogy with Teichmueller space . The program included a summer school with participants from around the world. Additionally, a number of graduate students and postdocs attended and gave talks in the larger research program.
Directed Reading Program:
At Rutgers University I founded the Rutgers Directed Reading Program in Mathematics, an extra-curricular program where graduate students guide undergraduate students through advanced math books, as well as prepare them to give end-of-term presentations. The program is modeled on that of the University of Chicago.
I also headed the committe for the program and mentored in the program for several years.
Some of my mentees include Chris Skalit (who went on to earn his PhD from the University of Chicago and is now a postdoc at UIC),
Charles Siegel (who went on to earn his PhD in algebraic geometry at UPenn and is now a postdoc at University of Tokyo),
Aaron Samkoff, and Jordan Ledvina.
Young Scholars Program:
During college, at the University of Chicago, I led problem sessions in the Young Scholars Program, a Chicago public school outreach program.
I was the Math Club president at the University of Chicago. At Simon's Rock I helped the Math Club restart. As part of this I organized special Putnam training sessions with a mathematician distinguished in math competitions and helped the students organize a "Pi Day" celebration.
During graduate school, during my vacations, I volunteered on the Makah Native American Reservation teaching high school drop-outs the math needed to pass their high school equivalency exam. During these vacations I also made multiple visits to elementary school classrooms to teach unit origami.
