I am a visiting assistant professor (postdoc) in the math department at UCSB. One of my research interests is mathematical conformal field theory, in the guises of conformal nets, vertex operator algebras, and geometric field theories. I am particularly interested in analytic questions arising from the interactions between these notions. I am also interested in subfactors, planar algebras, and tensor categories. For more information, including papers and talks, see my research page.

I am a co-organizer for the UCSB Quantum Algebra and Quantum Topology seminar, and the recent conference Quantum Symmetries: Subfactors and Planar Algebras.

I completed my Ph.D. at UC Berkeley in 2014 under the supervision of Vaughan Jones. After that, I was a postdoc at the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in Bonn, Germany.
