Welcome to the class website for the course Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. The class will focus on the many applications and features of differential equations arising in the sciences, engineering, and finance. A particular focus of the class will be general ways to solve and analyze differential equations. Many applications involve coupled systems of differential equations. To handle this, the class will also introduce important concepts from linear algebra. For more details see the syllabus and the topics listed below.

Prerequisites:
Math 3AB. A solid knowledge of calculus. A knowledge of college algebra and arithmetic.
Grading:
The grade for the class will be based on the homework assignments (see policy below), midterm exam, and final project as follows:
Homework / Quizzes 30%
Midterm Exam I 20%
Midterm Exam II 20%
Final Exam 30%
Homework Policy:
Assignments will be made weekly and posted on the class website. Prompt submission of the homework assignments is required. While no late homework submissions will be accepted, two missed assignments will be allowed without penalty. While it is permissible for you to discuss materials with classmates, the submitted homework must be your own original work.
Exams:
The first midterm exam will be given in class on Tuesday, January 31st.
The second midterm exam will be given in class on Tuesday, February 28th.
The final exam will be given according to the exam schedule issued toward the end of the quarter.
