Frequently Asked Questions
What is MathLab?
MathLab is a drop-in service for all math questions. It is in South Hall 1607 on Monday-Friday from Noon-5PM.

What is Webwork?
Webwork is your online homework. It is accessed through our GauchoSpace course found at http://gauchospace.ucsb.edu. Your input will need to be properly formatted for Webwork to recognize it as correct. In particular, please note that log is the natural log (base e) and logten is a base-ten logarithm.

What should I do if I don't understand something?
ASK QUESTIONS. This is something that I cannot stress enough. When people know the answers, it demonstrates knowledge (which is good) but not learning. If you ask questions when you are having a difficult time, everyone benefits.

What if I need more help outside of class?
Please come to my office hours (listed above) or the MathLab. There are also other services available to you, including CLAS. E-mail me if you ever feel that you are struggling and want to figure out how to get more help.

What if I need help with non-academic aspects of life?
There are many great resources at UCSB. Feel free to visit the counseling page at any time. Also, you have advisors and various offices around campus in place to help you work things out. If you feel overwhelmed or lost by this, come talk to me and we will figure it out together.

If you have any other questions, never hesitate to e-mail me. I will almost always answer within 24 hours. The material in this course is challenging, and moves quickly but I am here to help you when you need it.
