My name is James Charles Hateley, I usually go by Jim. I originally created this website while I was a mathematics graduate student at University of California, Irvine to share files with my students, and peers.I was born in June of 1982 in southern California. I graduated from University High School in Irvine, class of 2000. After high school I spent a little time in the Marine Corps. After the military I started junior college at Irvine Valley College intending on majoring in computer science. After the first year I switched to mathematics, it just seemed so much more fun. My hobbies, besides math, include rock climbing, hiking, doodling on my guitar and saxophone.
