Discussions: You must sign up for one discussion session. Attendance is mandatory. Time: W 8am (GIRV 2108), W 12noon(387 104), W 4pm (BRDA 2019A), W 5pm (BRDA 2019A), W 6pm (BRDA 2019A), W 7pm (BRDA 2019A).
Quiz: There will be five quizzes in the discussions.
Homework: Homeworks are assigned each week on Thursday (It's
aslo available on my web page http://www.math.ucsb.edu/wei) and due
Thursday of the following week at the end of the lecture. Note that you need to write
your name as well as your
Section # (your discussion time) on the top right corner of your homework. (1 point
will
be
taken
off if Section # is missing.)
The graded home work will be
returned to you at the discussion session. For the purposes of computing the
final homework grade, the lowest homework score will be deleted. In
consideration of the reader, no late homework will be checked.
Exams Schedule: Midterm I: Thursday, October 24
Midterm II: Thursday, November 21
Common Final: Wednesday, December 11, 7:30-10:30pm
Check your schedule now, for there will be no makeup exams.
Grades: Quiz 10%; Homework 10%; Midterm 20% each;
Final
40%.
Calculator: Calculators can be used for the homeworks, but are NOT allowed in the exams or quizzes.
Important Date: October 23-last day to drop class.
Math Lab: South Hall 1607, 12:00-5:00 pm, M-F. In the lab you can get assistance on mathematical problems from this course and beyond.
