The program features:
The students will be divided into small groups and will be assigned a research project as well as a research mentor.
Every Friday, each research group will give a presentation on the progress in their research project. Every week, these presentations will be followed by lunch or preceded by breakfast.
Once a week, a research faculty will give a talk on some interesting mathematical topic.
Faculty in the program
- Maria Isabel Bueno Cachadina (UCSB)
- Karel Casteels (UCSB)
- Wade Bloomquist (UCSB)
The research problems will be related to the following topics :
- Numerical properties of pencils in the family SLD(P) (Prof. Bueno)
- Combinatorial models of quantum algebras (Prof. Casteels)
diagrammatic approach to Skein Algebras
