Research Summary

I am currently working with Paul Atzberger. Using techniques from calculus of variations, stochastic calculus, and numerical analysis we are developing methods for the investigation of biological polymers and membranes immersed in complex fluids. A current project is developing spectrally accurate algorithms for variational problems related to equillibria configurations of polyelectrolytes in constrained geometries. Below is a particular movie of a charged semi-rigid, semi-flexible polymer on a sphere.
