CSE thesis

CSE graduates are expected to have a solid grounding in CSE core subjects as defined above. A CSE thesis should involve the solution of a real-world problem, using and/or developing tools to advance the CSE discipline. Some examples of such problems include, but are not limited to, data mining, computational chemistry, parallel computing tools for scientific computation, computational fluid dynamics, computational engineering and materials, and problem solving environments.

Thesis committees must satisfy the requirements of the home department, and should include at least one CSE faculty member and at least one faculty member from a department other than the home department to satisfy the multidisciplinary nature of the CSE emphasis.

The coordinating committee will certify that a students thesis falls within the Emphasis and notify the student's committee to that effect.
