At the same time that engineering and scientific software has become more complex and difficult to use, we have become accustomed in other areas to more natural, easy to use computer interfaces. At present we are lacking the faculty member who can bring the power of simple and versatile graphical user interfaces and automatic visualization of data to engineering and scientific applications, to meet both education and research objectives.
