Large-Scale Scientific Software

There is a powerful and effective means of collaboration available for CSE, via scientific software for the solution of large-scale problems (principally partial differential equations). Although there are experts in both scientific software and numerical partial differential equations on campus, it would be enormously useful to have on the faculty someone with expertise in developing the complex adaptive software and dealing with the software integration issues that is needed for example for the high-resolution solution of partial differential equation systems.
